Jane Wink born circa 1826 in Gibraltar married Royal Artillery Acting Bombadier William Rouse in Gibraltar in 1845 where she had two children before moving to Woolwich. In 1854 the family moved to Ispwich, Suffolk, where William joined the staff of the Suffolk Artillery Militia until his retirement from the army when he, Jane and youngest daughter, Eleanor, moved to Flixton/Homersfield where he worked for the Adair family. Jane and William's children: Thomas Henry, Mary Jane,Sarah Ann, James Winton, Eliza, William Henry, Henry Lewin, Emma, Charles, Annie and Eleanor. Thomas emigrated to Australia, and Eleanor to South Africa. Jane died at Wortwell, Norfolk in 1912. Looking for Jane's parents and WINK family. It is thought that her father may have been a Scottish military man, but it's just conjecture, no evidence yet. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
