My grandfather, Charles Waitkus (Vaitkus) born in 1881 and his two brothers, Jonas and Frank born in 1887 and 1890 respectively immigrated to the US (Illinois) around 1890-1902. This time frame Lithuania was occupied by Russia. I'm trying to locate the region they were born and lived before immigrating to the US, hoping to find relatives. Vaitkus is a fairly common name in Lithuania. I travel to Lithuania about once a year and local authorities say I need a specific location of birth to be of any help. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
