My great-great-grandfather is Gulbrand Johannesen. He was born Sept. 6, 1825 on the Bolkeneie Farm near Jevnaker, Norway. He was married to Marthe Larsdatter Lundereie. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1883 with his wife and one of his sons, Bernhard. He took the name Roste, as Røste was the name of the farm he lived on in Norway. Gulbrand had 8 children: Johannes, Kari, Anders, Berte, Oline Mattea, Ole, and Bernhard. While in Norway, he also lived on a few other farms, and some of his children may have taken those names: Bolkeneie, Frøslieie, Hagaeie. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
