Looking for information on my grandfather Frederick Mason's family in Ireland dating back to the mid-19th century. Samuel William Mason (b. 1865 in Cloghoge, Tandragee, Co. Armagh), son of Henry Mason (b. Ballyshiel, near Tandragee) and Margaret Hamilton. He had four younger brothers (Robert, William, John, and James). Samuel and Mary Joseph Phelan (b. 1865 in Waterford, d. 1932 in Dublin) were married in St. Olave's Presbyterian Church in Waterford in 1888. Samuel served as a compounder of medicines in the Royal Army Medical Corps from 1886 to 1907. He was stationed all over Ireland and had 9 children, 7 of whom survived: Margaret (b. 29 Jan 1891, Tipperary), known as Peggy Frederick James (b. 25 Oct 1982, Cork Barracks) Samuel William (b. 27 Nov 1893, Tralee, Co. Kerry), known as Willie Eileen Elizabeth (b. 22 Jan 1895, Tralee, Co. Kerry) Robert (b. 30 May 1896, Tralee, Co. Kerry) John Ernest (b. 19 Nov 1899, Buttevant, Co. Cork), known as Ernie Mary Violet (b. 27 May 1901, Queenstown, Co. Cork), known as Violet Frederick emigrated to New York in 1925. Samuel and Mary lived in the Stoneybatter area of Dublin in the 1920s. I'd appreciate any information or tips. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
