researching my GG Granparents. Thomas Foley immigrated from Ireland in mid 1800s to Placentia Bay, NLfd, to work for Sweetman & Saunders firm from Waterford, Ireland. Thomas FOLEY. Born approx. 1827 in Ireland. He was nicknamed Thomas "Tramore" Foley because that was were he was from supposedly. Thomas died on Oct 25 1892 in Newfoundland; he was 65. He is believed to be the first settler of Little Barasway, Nfld, Canada. Ellen BOW. maybe Nellie Boe, or other spellings. Ellen was born approx. 1830 in possibly Waterford, Ireland. Ellen died on Feb 14 1914 in Little Barasway, Newfoundland. I was told they married on Jan 29 1853, in Placentia, NFLD. Little Barasway has also been spelled Little Barachoix, Little Barachois, Little Barrisway, Little Barisway, Little Barsway. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
