What I have gleaned so far: Ora 'Orra' Jane Nevins was born about 1871 in Wisconsin (probably Aztalan Twp., Jefferson County) and she died in 1933 at age 62 years in Colville, Stevens County, Washington or Bend, Oregon; she married Joseph McPhail of Canada on October 19, 1890 in Jackson County, Wisconsin when she was age 19 years; he died in Lewiston, Nez Pierce County, Idaho probably before 1899. They had a son who was born about 1892 in Cable, Mercer County, Illinois. This indicates that they had moved from Wisconsin to Illinois to Idaho during the ensuing years and that she left Lewiston, Nez Pierce County, Idaho when Joseph died and returned to her family in Osseo, Trempealeau County, Wisconsin where she met or re-met and married John E. Carter, a family connection, and they in turn, at some time, then left for Colville, Washington. Colville, Washington, which is located 70 miles north of Spokane, Washington. Ora later married John E. Carter, a nephew of William F. Carter, (who was her Aunt Mary Georgina Cox's husband), who was born August 28, 1852 in Albany, Albany County, New York and died March 23, 1907 at age 54 years, 6 months, and 25 days in Colville, Stevens County, Washington and is buried in the Highland/Calvary Cemetery, Colville, Stevens County, Washington - married on March 22, 1899 in Osseo, Trempealeau County, Wisconsin, where her family lived, when she was age 28 years and he was age 47 years - they were married for 7 years before he died. Her son Kenneth was 7 years old when they married. Ora then married George Wilbur born in Ohio - married on December 10, 1910 in Colville, Stevens County, Washington when she was age 39 years. He had been in the 1910 Census for Stevens County, Washington and he probably died there before 1912. Their marriage in Stevens County, Washington was recorded as George Wilbur and Ora Carter. Her son Kenneth was 18 years old and was in Stevens County, Washington in 1910, possibly living with them. Ora next married William Carter - married on September 04, 1912 in Coeur D'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho when she was age 41 years. He probably died in Idaho or Washington before 1920. Her son Kenneth was 20 years old. (It is 103 miles from Colville to Coeur d'Alene - they are not far from each other over the state line). Ora then married Iver William Eklund of Sweden on June 04, 1920 in Stevens County, Washington when she was age 49 years. Their marriage in Stevens County, Washington was recorded as Iver Eklund and Ora Carter. Eklund was living in Chelan County (mid-state), Washington in 1910. Ora's son Kenneth was 26 years old when Ora and Iver married in 1920. In both the 1920 - 1930 Censuses she is shown living with her son Kenneth - so she may have married Iver after the 1920 Census was taken and perhaps he died before the 1930 Census. In the 1930 Census she is shown as a nurse in Colville, Stevens County, Washington and her son Kenneth is shown as a baker. In an obituary in 1933 she was mentioned with a last name of Eklund from West Bend, Oregon. Ora and Joseph McPhail had a son: i. Kenneth McPhail.who was born about 1892 in Cable, Mercer County, Illinois. He moved a lot and had 4 stepfathers! He was in the Stevens County Census in 1910. In both the 1920 - 1930 Censuses he is shown living with his mother Ora Jane. In the 1930 Census he is shown as a baker and his mother Ora is shown as a nurse in Colville, Stevens County, Washington.
