I am searching for the birth parents of my Great-Grandfather, OLIVER WHEELER, who was born in Racine County, Wisconsin circa 24 August 1876. Oliver WHEELER was admitted to the Taylor Orphan Asylum in Mt. Pleasant, Racine County, Wisconsin on 8 August 1877. He was taken in by Henry SHEPSTONE and Elizabeth COLE(S) SHEPSTONE in October 1885. I am also seeking additional information (i.e., of their lives in ENGLAND)on Henry SHEPSTONE who was born 19 February 1840 in Rowberrow, Somerset, England. He was the son of George and Charlotte (?) SHEPSTONE. George and Elizabeth (?) SHEPSTONE had the following children all born in Rowberrow, Somerset, England: Thomas (born c1826); William (born c1828); John (born c1832); Eliza (born c1834); James (born c1836), and Henry "Harry" (born 19 Feb 1840); Sarah (born c1843); Elizabeth (born c1845); Mary Ann (born c1845-1847); and Lydia (born c1850). Henry SHEPSTONE married Elizabeth Mary COLES on 24 February 1861 in England. They allegedly had ten children. Henry SHEPSTONE died 22 February 1927 in Brighton, Kenosha County, Wisconsin. Elizabeth Mary COLES SHEPSTONE, daughter of John & Elizabeth (?) COLES, was born 4 March 1836 in Cheddar, Somerset, England and died 19 February 1913 in Brighton, Kenosha County, Wisconsin. John and Elizabeth (?) COLES had the following children all born in Chaeddar, Somerset, England: James (born c1826); Jane (born c1830); Elizabeth Mary (born 4 March 1836); William (born c1836) - possible Elizabeth and William are twins; John (born c1837). In the 1861 English Census, there was a Hannah (born c1853) living with John and Elizabeth (?) COLES - Not clear if she was a daughter, granddaughter or other connection.
