My maternal Great Grandmother's [full] maiden name was-- Amy George Auxier --she was born on August 11, 1883-- I don't have any other information about her, except that she married-- John Herschell McCray --who was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on June 6,1883. According to what my maternal grandma, Mary Winifred, told me, great-grandpa McCray literally deserted great-grandma Amy, and Amy had to work to support her two daughters, by herself. The names of John, and Amy[Auxier]McCray's daughters were: Mary Winifred McCray--born July 2, 1908, in Brewer, Arkansas[my maternal grandmother]--Grandma Mary married-- John Paul Henrickson[born October 4, 1904] --Grandpa John Henrickson was born in Madison, Arkansas, to Peter George Henrickson{Henriksen, is the original spelling] and Mary Kathleen Larsen{born June 10, 1873}, both of whom immigrated to the U.S. from Denmark. And, great-grandma Amy[Auxier]McCrays' other daugher's name was: Venice McCray[I don't remember aunt Venice's married name]--she was grandma's little siser, and Venice passed away in 1975, while living in Orange co., California[I think], and was survived by her daughter--Kimberly. Great-grandma Amy George [Auxier]McCray passed away [if I remember right] sometime in 1954-1955, and is buried in Golden Gate cemetery, in San Francisco, California. I would love to find out from where, within the Auxier family, great-grandma Amy had come--what was her mother's name, where she had been born, and if she had any brothers and sisters. I just found out today, that the Auxier family was actually from Germany, originally--so, this is all very new to me, and I'd love to learn far more about my family history, now. Thank you!
