Query Text: |
My grandmother was born Maria Arias. At about 2 years old, she left her residence in Monforte, Spain with mother, Balbina Carballada (appx. 22 years old), and adoptive father, Erasmo Perez (approx. 26 years old), for the United States. The ship departed in November of 1920 from a port in Vigo, Spain. It was not until my grandmother's death in 1991, at the age of 73, that I learned that Erasmo Perez was not her biological father. It is my understanding that her natural father died of influenza during the pandemic in/around 1919; from all information known to me, her natural father's name was Jose Arias, and he may have resided in/near Monforte, Spain. I am looking for any persons who may be related to Jose Arias. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
