ISO my birth mom or any family. I am a female child born in Shreveport on July 9, 1985. I was adopted through the VOA. My mom was either 13 or 14 and my dad was 14 or 15. She was of French descent and of the Episcopal faith. Her mom and dad had been divorced since she was 7. She had one brother that was 12. She had black hair, brown eyes, and fair complected. At the time she enjoyed spelling, math, animals, baking, sports and piano. SHe hoped to become a veterinarian. My father was of German and English descent. He was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed football and music, swimming and fishing. My father had one sister that was 13. He was 5"8 15o lbs fair complxion and brown eyes with black hair. His father was a computer operator. With the VOA, the parents get to choose who gets their baby. My mom picked an older family (they were both 38 at the time), both had a college education, and were involved in church. My birthmom wrote a letter to me right after my birth and again at Christmas of 1985. With the letter at Christmas she sent me a stuffed animal, but the letter never reached my parents until I was 21. In the letter she wanted to know if it was okay to send me birthday gifts because our birthdays were so close together. However, the VOA decided not to send it.
