I am looking for any biological relative. I recently received my adoption papers and my name on it was Melanie Beth Baty. I am assuming that Baty is my biological last name. My adoptive name became Melanie Beth Lang. My grandmother told me years ago that I may have up to 5 brothers and that my parents were going through a divorce. They may have been Catholic and someone in my family was Italian. She is deceased now, so I don't know if that is truly accurate. I was born in Buffalo, NY on Feb. 20, 1962 at 10:11 pm weighing 6ibs. 15 oz. I know that it was a private adoption. I was born at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Erie County, Buffalo NY. Charlton G. Blair was my parents attorney at the time. I was a foster child in the eyes of the state until April 27, 1965. Apparently that was the law at that time, however my adoptive parents took me home around 6 days after my birth. I recently received information from the N.Y.S. Department of Health with non-identifying information. It disclosed that my mom was 28 yrs. old when she gave birth to me. It was confirmed that I weighed 6lbs. 15 oz. She was Italian and a typist. She had divorced her husband and had given birth to five other children prior to me. She had dark hair, was 5'3" slender and had light olive skin color. My dad was 27 yrs. old and a truck driver. Both were Catholic. My mom had relinquished sole custody of me and surrendered me for adoption. The adoption was handled through a private placement. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
