My earliest known American Johnston ancestors are Thomas and Elizabeth Jane Dalrymple, both died in South Carolina, USA in 1700's. Would like to know who their parents were and where they resided. I think that my Johnstons came from Northern Ireland to the U.S. and were in Scotland prior to being in Ireland. They supposedly lived in the border area of Scotland.
