I am trying to determine where in Roscommon my Great-grandfather Edward Tiernan came from & also if he had any siblings. He was born circa 1836,son of Patrick Tiernan, a farmer. He arrived in Liverpool before 1861 & settled in Old Swan,Liverpool.His first marriage(1858) was to Mary Kenny.Their children were James(1860) & Ann(1863).His second marriage(1867) was to Ann Rogers.Their children were Maria(1869), Michael(1871),Edward(1873) & Patrick(1876).Both wives were born in Ireland.He died in Old Swan,Liverpool on 17/4/1909. His occupation was in Insurance. I believe he was also a member of the Liverpool Irish National League in 1890, representing his branch at the funeral of the eminent Irish councillor Patrick Byrne on 8/5/1890.
