In search of information regarding my grandfather, Carlos De Gracia Alvear. Born 1897 in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur. His parents were Tomas Alvear and Lulicerea De Gracia. He was brought to the United States by the Thomasite missionaries at about age 12. Went to school at USC graduated with a law degree and returned to the Philippines. Worked with Jorge Vargas; appointed Bureau Head of Public Utilities approximately 1940-42. Shown in lower left panel of photo. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
