Today I learned that my maternal grandfather was an "inmate" at age 10 years in the Ladies Deborah Nursery & Child Protectory in NYC in the 1880 US Census. Looking the institution up on the internet I learned that the children there were badly mistreated and many died. I have no inkling of where he was born or of his parents or why he was there. If anyone has any assistance available I'd be eager to exchange info on the DIMOND family tree. | |||||||||||||||||||||
