I gave birth to a daughter on July 10, 1984 at 4:44pm at Moncton General Hospital. The name give to her at birth was Shirley Marie Holloran and I know that she was later named Lisa Marie Anne, keeping the Marie at my request. I gave her a unicorn necklace which I still have the earrings to, and a handmade broomstick crocheted blanket. I also had the maternity nurses take pictures of her during the wait for adoption finalization so that there would be pictures of her from day one,as she was very very loved. There is a letter with the NB adoption registry that I hope she will see one day. She has an older, also adopted ,brother named Ricky, and her dad worked at the Ben's Bakery as a mechanic. The home they owned was paid off and the family fully bilingual. I know that my daughter had a mass of dark hair at birth and do think that she would look like me. She has two brothers that have grown up knowing about her and always wanting to meet her. To them family is everything and she was the first member of it in their eyes. The one gift they want to give her is unconditional love. And maybe a mirror that says this is what family looks like, this is who you see in your mirror. I know her family is her world, never looking to replace it just looking to know her in whatever way is her choice and is best for her. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
