I am searching for a child I was forced to give out for adoption either in August or September 1955, I was staying at the Mae Marshall Home for Unwed Mothers in Edmond,OK I remember going into labor at night and was taken to the hospital, my baby was born and the adoptive parents came in and we talked a few minutes, but no names were exchanged, they may have been members of the Church of Christ. After I was discharged I was sent home a few days later. I remember living in dorms behind the main house. I am 70 years old and have been trying to find my child for years and would like to know about my child. She/He will be 52 years old this fall-2007. I believe the records may be sealed in Oklahoma, I have recently learned some records burned in an old barn fire, there may be some records still out there and I would like to know what I can do to find out about my child. Any information would help so much, I married in 1956, I have five more children, which one passed away at 6 weeks of age, I have 2 boys and 2 girls living. My husband of 50 years passed away in 2006. My maiden name was Annis Napier, I was only 18 years old at the time of the adoption and I was not married at the time of adoption and my husband of 50 years was not the father of the child, I met him afterwards. Any information helping me find my daughter, which is what I was told I had, but I did not see my baby without diapers and have heard a lot of the facts were changed, so I am not sure what to beleive, I may have had a son. Thank You in advance - Birth Mother - Annis | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
