I am searching for Paul Nielsen or possibly Nelsen. He was born in Denmark Abt 1846. He married Jensine Marie Jensen or Jensdatter in Denmark and them and their 11 month old son came to the USA in 1889. They spent their first years at Tyler,Minnesota and then homesteaded in North Dakota in 1896 supposively in Hettinger County. They lived in that area until 1915 when Jensine died. They also lost a son, Holger, who was killed by a horse in 1915. After that, Paul moved his family back to Tyler, Mn and placed the older children in an orphanage. The youngest, a daughter, Helena Elizabeth, age 7 was raised by Jensine's brother. The other children are, Nels, Peter Christian, Christina, Anton, Viggo, Herman and Carl. Paul died in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa in 1921. I have searched for Census records for them in 1900 and 1910 in Hettinger County, but can find nothing. The family say the correct name is Paul, but since I can't find anything, I am wondering if that could be a middle name. Can anyone help me? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
