Hello, I don't know if you can help. This morning I found, at a flea market of all places, the Officer's Commission of one 1st Lieutenant Nathan Greenberg into the Medical Corps of the US Army in 1936. The woman I bought it off for $5 in Jersey City, NJ had no idea where she and her husband had picked it up- she only knew that it was not from her family. This is the original document & I would very much like to return it to his family if I can. It is signed by the Adjutant General and has the raised seal on it and everything. It is framed and in really good shape for a piece of paper this old. His official date of commissioning was May 23rd 1936. He was sworn in on September 17th 1936. It was shocking to see the document that made Nathan Greenberg "an Officer & a Gentleman", serving at the pleasure of the President of the United States, sitting in a pile of crap. I know my Grandmother would never, ever let anything having to do with my Grandfather's service end up at a flea market & I cannot imagine that any of Lt. Greenberg's surviving family wants it laying around my home. If you can help me at all, or if you can point me in a direction you think may be helpful, please do not hesitate to contact me. This belongs with the family & I will be thrilled to send it to them if I can find them. Regards Andrew Fox | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
