England 1815, entered Canada September 1832, settled in Black River, Glenelg Parish, Northumberland County, New Brunswick; about 1838 married Catherine MacNaughton; he died 21 May 1898. A family story has it that four Edge brothers were shipwrecked in the Bay of Fundy; rescued, threee went West, and John went to Black River.
