Searching for my maternal grandmother. Her name was Marree (or Marrie) Freeman, she was approximately 17 years old when she gave birth to my mother on March 12, 1927, 12:49 p.m. at the Willows Maternity Sanitarium in Kansas City, MO. All we know about her was that she was American, town reared, had completed her sophmore year of high school, had some vocal training, and was 5' 6" tall with brown hair and brown eyes. Her father was a mechanic in the town they lived in. We have no name for the father except that he was farm-reared, 5'9" with Black hair and blue eyes. Their baby was given the name of Nelle while at The Willows, but after she was adopted by Charles and Amelia Neece from Galesburg, IL, her name was changed to Alma Jean. We are lucky to have 6 letters of correspondence from The Willows to Amelia Neece. Marree Freeman, who if still alive would be 97, we would greatly appreciate exchanging information. Thanks very much. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
