Query Text: |
I have a sepia-tone photo of an elderly gentleman wearing mid- to late-nineteenth century clothes and sporting muttonchops. Photo was taken by a studio in Malden, MA. Handwriting on the back looks to be my grandmother's (Annie Louise (Packard) Jordan) and reads: "Capt. Samuel Pickard Died at 100 years old." The only Capt. Samuel Pickard I can find in New England was born in the 1600s and did not live 100 years. I am assuming that sometime between Samuel and my grandmother, the surname was changed to Packard. Can anyone help me identify this man? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
