Did the surname Ackerman become Acres? By accident I stumbled over corrections to Savage's work on line at http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu. This listed the surname ACRES, or AKERMAN, Henry of Newbury m 3/13/1674 to Hannah Silver d/o Thomas Silver. I have been seeking the pedigree of JOHN WILLIAM ACRES, b abt 1823, married to Eliza Ann Bellamy abt 1842 in Boston. He was a cordwainer [showmaker] in 1860, a Boston sailmaker in 1880. I have not been able to locate an ACRES immigrant and this data may be why. Can anyone help me connect the above. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
