I was born on January 16, 1983 in the Des Moines Iowa area. I was adopted by a family in Ottawa, Kansas. My birth mother was the daughter of a Assembly of God minister with the last name of Carter. We have done some research and believe her father is Joseph Carter and was the minister of the First AG in Ankeny, Iowa. I was told my birth mother was 17 years old and my birth father was 16 years old. I was also told that diabetes runs in at least one side of the family. I have recently gotten married and am hoping to find my birth parents, not only to meet them but also because my wife and I are planning on having kids in the near future and we would love to know the family medical history. If you have any information that may help us we would greatly appreciate it. Also another piece of information that may be helpful is that my Aunt and Uncle were originally planning on adopting me and they got in contact with this family through their minster Reg Larson. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
