Hariet Soffey, age 20, daughter of Amos Sauve and Victoria Baker married on 4 May 1866 Owen Bedford, son of Richard Bedford and Ida Mead, age 36 father of 3. Owen was born in NY while Harriet was born in Brockville, Ontario and both were living in Hungerford, Ontario in 1866. Harriet continued raising his 3 children, and had 4 boys of her own; John, Richard William and Herbert. She died giving birth to Herbert who was born blind.
