Researching Peter METCALF (b. ca. 1800) family living in cBallymurtaugh,Castlemacadam parish, County, WICKLOW, IRELAND in 1830s. He may have been a miner in Copper mines near Avoca. Attended old Castlemacadam church. Peter's wife was Bess HENSE? or THENSE? [HENNESEY?]. Children included Mary, Samuel, Edward, Henry, William etc. Family arrived in US ca. 1847 and settled in Lafayette County, WI (first in New Diggings and later Shullsburg, WI.
