I have been searching for several years now the origin of my family surname. I have found out that our name is Scottish in origin. However, the biggest lead that I have in terms of close family ties is that much of my extended family is in Tennesse. Now to get down to business I am looking for the descendants of the Bewley Brothers. I know that they are the cousins of Nancy Johnson Bewley (b.1891-d.1989), Eulah Johnson, Charles Johnson and their siblings. Nancy is my great great grandmother and the daughter of Ed Johnson and Sally Allen Johnson (b.1852-d.1953). My great great great grandmother is the daughter of John and Sarah Allen. The confusing part is that I have a woman named Betsy who is the great grandmother of the Bewley Brothers. I do not have a husbands' name but I know that the Hall family (Nishi, Joan, Fanny and Ruth) were her children's names and that Nishi married into the Bewley's. Now I have been calling them the Bewley Brothers but there are two sisters Gertrude, who is my great aunt (b.1907-d.1993; she died in NJ) and Maybelle Bewley. Their brothers are/were (?) Hubert (my great great grandfather), Charles, Walter, Gaines, Robert, William, and Cass (b.1904-d.1999). If anyone should have any information I would so gratefully appreciate it. We are planning a family reunion for August of next year and I would really like to have some information to share with everyone. Who knows maybe our extended family will attend as well.
