***************** UPDATE ***************** After posting the below information, I received an email from someone who thought she might be my birth mother. Long story short... yes It has been a very good experience and it puts another piece of my life's puzzle in place. This website works so be patient, keep your fingers crossed and good luck to all ************************************************** I am searching for my birth mother. I just recently received my non identifying birth information from the placement organization in Portland ME. Date of Birth: 12/25/65 in Brunswick Maine. Birth mother surrendered baby on 1/13/66. First placed in foster care 12/30/65. Placed for adoption with same foster care family on 1/17/66; removed and placed with the final adoptive family on 7/29/66. First family could not keep me as the mother had a nervous breakdown 10 years prior and was not well enough. That family called me Johnny. My final adoptive family called me Jeff. I also know that Birth mother was approximately 20 years old when she gave birth. It is described that she is of average height and weight and wore glasses for nearsightedness. She is described as having “blond hair, brown eyes and fair complexion.” Her religion is noted as Protestant and resided in Maine. It is stated that “although the birth mother was responsible for her own prenatal expenses, she cannot pay for the baby’s care.” Maternal birth grandmother is noted as a high school graduate of German descent, was asthmatic and wore glasses. Maternal birth grandfather died in his mid forties, when birth mother was approximately 18 months old. Cause of death was reported as “hypertension and uremic poisoning”. Maternal Grandfather is described as being of “partial French descent”. He was reportedly in law enforcement and worked as a railroad worker and iron worker prior to law enforcement. Birth maternal great grandmother died in her mid 70’s of cancer (did not specify type of cancer), was musically inclined and worked in a supportive role at a nurses residence. Birth mother has 2 brothers. One was a flight instructor for the Air Force and the other is noted to work in the field of electronics. and that my birth father is described as “partly Spanish” is “tall, thin, with big nose and big feet”. He was noted to have worked in a library. Paternal grandmother is described as short and heavy with dark features. I am 41 today, happily married for 18 years. Retired Air Force and working and living in Germany. My wife and I have one daughter that is 11 years old.
