Query Text: |
My great-grandparents were John Boyle and Mary O'Donnell Boyle, from Oughtmeen - Meenatottan - Loughanure), Dungloe, Glenties, Donegal (in Templecrone parish). John, a farmer, was born around 1842, Mary around 1843. They had 8 children, including two sets of twins: Denis and Patrick (b. 1868), James and Neal (b. 1870), Annie (b. 1875), Fanny (b. 1876), Minnie (b. 1879), and Con (b. 1866). All of the sons emigrated to Broxburn or Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, around the 1890s to become shale miners, and the daughters remained in Ireland. Many of the sons' offspring emigrated to the United States, primarily New York, in the 1920s and 1930s. I am trying to find information on John and Mary, specifically, brothers and sisters and their parents' names, as well as any other family information. I believe that John had two brothers named James and Roger, and I believe John's father was Connell Boyle and Mary's father was Denis O'Donnell, but I am not certain. I have consulted census records and birth certficates but have reached an impasse. I welcome any information or suggestions on how to continue my research. Thanks, Kieran | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
