My son was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan at Borgess Hospital on 5/29/1970. He weighed 6 lbs. and 9 oz. He was adopted through the St. Agnes Foundling Home associated with Borgess Hospital. My son was adopted by a family who had a son born in 1968. My name at the time of his birth was Mary Elizabeth Reifenberg. I lived in Dowagiac, Michigan. His father's name is Edward Pfannenschmidt who also lived in Dowagiac, Michigan. He was in the army from 1969 through 1971 or 1972. I am 5'2" and have brown hair with green eyes. I wear glasses full time as did his birth father. He was approx. 5'7" and had dark brown hair with dark eyes. The only thing I was told by the agency is that the adoptive mother was French Canadian; the adoption papers were signed in June of 1970 by my parents as I was a minor at the time. When my son was picked up by his adoptive parents, his older brother was excited as he carried the diaper bag for his little brother. I was never given a picture of my son for my records and have not heard anything since December of 1970. I finally came to the conclusion that I would like to know something about my son and that is why I am registering at this time. My husband's daughter gave us our first grandchild last week (7/25/07) and I am anxious to find out if I have other grandchildren on this earth. I would like to be able to tell my son why he was given up for adoption and to let him know that I think about him often. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
