I am searching for a William Peffer who was born in NE America - circa 1880 +/-10 years or maybe more(the family recollection was born in Jefferson City,Virginia - though I don't think there is such a place in Virginia) William had 3 sisters and 1 brother all born in the USA. However, William returned to Scotland with his father at age +/-11 years and married an Isabella Russell from Edinburgh -my wife's grandmother. William's father, again a Peffer - though first name unknown, is thought to have emigrated from Scotland - from Vale of Leven Area - Dumbarton close to Glasgow, with his first wife. His first wife died in the USA (obviously as a Peffer) but not before giving birth to William and his three sisters and one brother - all born in the USA. William returned to Scotland with his father after the death of his mother. His father remarried again in Scotland and his descendents live in the Glasgow area - Bishopbriggs. I'd be grateful to hear of any information, thoughts or suggestions that might help me find out a little more about William Peffer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
