Query Text:

STRUS[GEORG]arrived in 1903 [married Mary Bednarik 1906 aka Bednarczyk]& [brother-Audrejz Strus]1912, Anna Burko BURKA n. KRAWEC, married Josef Strus' [b. Abt. 1860] abt 1876; The "STRUS'" family, I know, were from the "Greek Catholic "Wrooblik Kroolewski and also in krossniennskie podkarpackie. The dates on the Pradziad data base are 1830-1835. I saw, from a copy of the "Lemko Surnames found in 1787 Austrian Cadastral Records," 5 famlies are BURKO and 2 families are STRUS. There was a son, Audrzei Strus, who was born in 1878, according to Geo Washington Ship Manifest arrival July 08 1912. STRUS' is from Wroblik Szlacheckie Poland Sanok District. I can't read the July ??[17] 1903 from Hamburg to Port of NY July 30 1903; SS. Graf Waldersee; Georg Strus Ruthanian going to Jersey City NJ & then PO Box 44 Forest City PA Susquehanna County to Stanislaw? it WROBLIK SZLACHECKI in Sanok administrative dist, Rymanow gmina/township, Rymanow Roman Catholic Parish, Wroblik Krolewski Greek Catholic parish. Write peekabbobrat at yahoo dot com WROBLIK KROLEWSKI in the Krosno administrative district and gmina, Rymanow Roman Catholic Parish, Wroblik Krowleski Greek Catholic Parish. Source: Lenius /Genealogical Gazetteer of Galicia Krakov or Krawkof is probably KRAKAU (KRAKOW) which was an administrative district, gmina, city, and region. The city itself had 10 Roman Catholic parishes plus a Greek Catholic parish & numerous synagogues in 1900. Unless I have a street address, determining the correct one is impossible. However, I think that Granny was merely referring to the region of SE Poland (MALOPOLSKA) when she used the term. Thus, it is impossible to identify which one, of the possible ten thousand villages, where Maternal Great Grandpa Josef STRUS’ was "Mayor."
