Hi, I am searching for my gr gr grandfather James Mannion and his wife Anne Crane of Co. Roscommon Ireland. Their son James Patrick Mannion arrived in Australia on the ship Erato in 1878. He gave his age as 27yrs at the time and he said his parents were deceased. He married Margaret Mary Moloney of Co. Clare in Sydney in 1883. The marriage certificate showed "Manning" as the surname instead of Mannion His brother (name unknown) apparently went on to the USA or Canada and went into the cannery business. I can't find James Patrick's birth or his parents in Co Roscommon. If anyone can help with my query, I would greatly appreciate it. Kind regards Annette Letson | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
