WISEMAN (WEISMANN, WEISSMANN) Frederick Conrad Wiseman / Weismann born abt 1861 in Australia. I have his father as Friedrich Egbert Weismann (married in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia 1859) I believe my gggrandfather's name was actually Weismann and was changed somewhere around the year 1900 to Wiseman. I have found certificates for his marriage here in Australia in both names and my gmother used to say she believed the name had been Weismann ... but we don't know the reasoning behind the name change.
