I am trying to solve a mystery here and hoping somebody might know the answer. My Mom's Father, Afton Don Johnston was born 27 Mar 1919, in Burley,Cassia,Idaho. His parents were Ralph Johnston (b.Oklahoma abt.1901-2 residing in Idaho)and his wife Velma Althea Johnston b 13 Jan 1901 in Bannock, Pocatello, Idaho. Ralph and Velma were married on 22 Nov 1917 in Twin Falls Idaho. Before Afton reached one year old, Ralph & Velma were divorced with Velma moving back home to her parents. Velma remarried on 23 Nov 1921 to Elmer Carl Posey. My question here is, there were 3 Ralph Johnston in or around the same area at this time, two of them born in Oklahoma, one Ive gotten conflicting birth places, Idaho/Oklahoma. Anyhow, Whats missing from the info we have is Ralph's date of birth, parents names or any other info tht would help us. Ralph Morrow Johnston, is the man I'm betting on. Born Ok, 7 Oct 1901 ,lived in Yale, Blaine, Idaho between 1910 ad 1920 and Died 14 Jan 1975 in Bishop,Inyo County, Ca. Ralph remarried abt 1930 to a Violet, funny thing is they have his wife listed as Velma in the 1930 Los Angeles Census. Ralph Morrow Johnston was a Los Angeles Police Officer for 20 years. At the time of his death, his obit stated he was survived by his wife Violet, and his two sisters, Mae Leach of Bishop, Ca. and Nellie Nelson of none other than Twin Falls Idaho. I have been trying to figure this out since January and so far nothing... If anybody out there is related to either Velma Althea Kidd or Ralph Morrow Johnston and knows the answer or knows where to find one, please by all means contact me. My Mom knew Velma and Carl as her Grandparents but met her Father at age 14 for a split second at the time of Velma's death from Cancer in 1954. Her Father, who resided in Alaska, died 4 years later, in June 1958. Im trying to so hard to help her find the answer to this, hope somebody can assist...Thanks , Sheri L.
