Looking for information on Sampson FLEMING b. 1757 NYC, d. 6/15/1791 NYC (son of Solomon FLEMING). Sampson married Alice HALIBURTON abt 1777 in Fort Detroit, MI. Alice was b. 1/22/1758 in possibly Canada. Her father was Maj. William HALIBURTON, British Army chaplain. Sampson was a fur trader from New York City and Deputy Coommissary of Stores and Provisions in Fort Detroit, MI. He and Alice lived in NYC and had the following children: Wm. b 1777; Ann b 1779; Gen. Augustus b 1785; Brig. Gen. James b 1788 (who mar. Maria Matilda LUDLOW) and Col. Alexander b. 1790 (who mar. Emma Seton ATKINSON).
