I'm looking for Patrick James Mullin, born about 1850, who listed his birthplace as "India" and "East India" on US Census records. Does anyone know which country Patrick was referring to? He married Elizabeth Hall Tarver in the 1870's. I can't seem to find any record of Patrick before he married Elizabeth, and I actually can't find a record of that marriage. The 1880 Census shows a son John Patrick and a daughter, Elizabeth. John listed his father's birthplace as "Ireland" so that really confuses the issue.
