Worked as chief warder of the Perth Penitenciary. first born children Joseph, Margaret, Hannah born in Scotland Emigrated to Dunedin New Zealand aboard the Canterbury 1878.Further children Norman, Herbert, Minerva, and Andrew born in Dunedin. Believed to have served with the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders in Indian Mutiny and Crimean War. Sisters one a Charlotte I think were coming to join him aboard the Wild Deer but ran aground and disembarked in London.
