I am female, born on or around 2/15/1971 somewhere in North Carolina. It is possible that both of my biological mother's parents were deaf. My b-mother was about 23 and my b-father was about 25 in 1971. Both were said to be white, unmarried and both with a high school education. My records indicate there was another female child born from the same b-mother about one year after my birth. This 1/2 sibling is believed to have died of (possibly) lukemia in the early 1980's. There is also the possibility of another 1/2 sibling born from the same b-mother, possibly born around 1985-87. My adoption was through the state of North Carolina; therefore, it is considered to be a "closed" adoption. I cannot access any records without a court order.
