I am looking for the origin, lineage and history of the people with the surname RANCE in India. These people were last seen in large numbers in the Pakistan region of Kashmir. They were said to have been massacred and the few who escaped, dispersed after the riots in 1947. I wish to know how they got this name, how they reached Kashmir and what are their roots.
