Mother died when she was young and she went to live with maternal grandmother and aunt in Stafford, Rice or Reno county Kansas. Mothers' name may have been Alice or Ellen. Father re-married in 1881 to Ida Sauers in South Dakota. Cora married Roy Leighton "Leat" Shipler on Febr. 26, 1893 and they lived until 1917 in the Reno and Rice county Kansas area.
