I am researching the Collen family. William Thomas COLLEN was born in Honington, Suffolk in 1802 and emigrated to South Africa with the 1820 Settlers where he raised a large family. I am attaching a copy of a painting of William Thomas in his late teens, painted before he left the UK. It is possible that this painting was done by his older brother, Henry COLLEN, who became a well-known painter, specialising in miniatures. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
