Hello, I am an adoptee. I was given a paper after my fathers death and it has the following information. I have just begun searching. U.S. TEXAS Phillip Wayne Finn or Fenn Betty Jane Finn or Fenn 1-9-30 dependent child 9-12-36 committed to Faith Home. 7-17-42 custody transferred to Miss Ethel A. Clayton or Claxton, Mary A. Bennet School for Girls, Bellaire, TX. 8-11-44 Permitted to live with father and sister. Maternal grandparents decd. 1947 Miss Clayton/claxton made arrangements for mother to be cared for in Salvation Army Home and Hospital San Antonio, Texas. Presumed father Bill Moore about 30 married man with one child final adoption about August '48. An obit attached to the paper... Strickland, Mrs. Cathrine V. Strickland, 64 of 1424 Ashland died Tuesday, Member of Heights Church of Christ. Survivors: Daughter Mrs. Joyce Hawkins; sons, Monroe Strickland, J. B. Lanier, all of Houston; sister Mrs. Marvin McNeely Corrigan; brother Atward Woodard, Oakdale, LA; eight grandchildren: and a number of other relatives. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery.
