I am researching my family tree & am looking for information on my Grandparents on my Father's side. On my Father's birth certificate his parents are MARGARET CHALLONER & RICHARD WINGFIELD. My Grandfather's occupation is down as being a Builders Labourer but my Mum told me that he was later a Coal Miner. I have searched everywhere for any information with no luck, I have been told that my Grandmother was 66 years old when I was born in December 1971 but my Grandfather died many years before. Back in 1953 they lived on Whyburn/Whybourne Street, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire but later moved to Lime Tree Road, Hucknall. My father was born 21st August 1953 in Nottingham City Hospital & was named MICHAEL RICHARD WINGFIELD. I have asked my Father repeatedly for any information but he refuses & my Mum can't help because they were very tight lipped back when my parents were married.
