Looking for adopted daughter born Feb, march, April, or May of 1962. Both the mother and myself were from Bangor Maine. The mother was jewish and I was not. The child would have blue or brown eyes and brown hair. The mother of the child was taken to Florida and the child's birth was either in Miami Or West Palm beach or possibly North Miami area. I believe the child could have been adopted by relatives and possibly brought up Jewish. The child's mother's name was Joyce and Joyce's mother's name was Anna.It is possible the child was adopted by one of Joyce's mother's sisters in the Florida area. They would be in their eighties now if still alive. Joyce's mother died on March 21,1984. Because we were considered minors at the time and because of different religious backgrounds and the way the laws was constructed then the male had little or no rights. Therefore I don't believe I was mentioned in the child's birth records. I have been searching for years but regretfully have not been able to acquire much helpful information. Photo is of birth mother right after child's birth. Any information or knowledge would be appreciated. Don’t let anyone tell you that adoption is the "right choice" or the "loving option" for your baby. YOU are the only mother or father your baby has, and no one will be able to take your place in his or her life. People who try to convince you to surrender your baby are probably in a position to get something out of the adoption for themselves – either money or your child himself. Other people may tell you that you'll be "giving a wonderful gift" to an infertile couple – this is NOT your responsibility. Your only job is to be the best mom or dad you can be for your baby. Your child isn't going to want or accept any substitute for the real thing! Being young or unmarried or poor will not make you a bad parent and you can overcome any obstacles that you face along the way. The most important thing is that you be there for your child the way that no one else can. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
