Seek contact with other descendants of Marcus and Elizabeth Becker Warth. The Warth family came to New York City in 1833 from Glarus , Switzerland. They are buried in Lee, Oneida County, New York. Marcus had been married previously and has a son, Conrad. Conrad lives in New York City after his arrival in America sometime around 1832. Conrad and his wife had a son Samuel and Samuel had a son Samuel,jr. The 2 Samuel Warth operated a grocery in Geneva, Ontario County, New York from about 1855. Would like any information on the business in Geneva and their burial sites. I am also searching for the families of 2 Warth daughters, Anna and Dorothea, born in Switzerland around 1815 and possibly living in Ontario or Oneida County, New York after 1835. 2 other sisters , Verena( sometimes called Fanny or Louise)and Catherine, married in Newark ,Essex County , New Jersey or in the area in 1835 and 1837. The sisters and their husbands, J. E. Frederick Wendt and William Conover, move to Cincinnati, Ohio by 1838 and 1840. The youngest son of Marcus and Elizabeth Becker Warth is Marcus, jr. We would like to know where is was sent to live after the death of both parents , mid 1840's, as he was about 13 years old. He eventually resides in Cincinnati, Ohio , 1880's, and runs a drayage with his sons. The fifth Warth daughter, Elizabeth Warth Baumgartner/ Baumgardner, , died in Rahway, NJ in about 1836. Her husband was Lawrence/ Hilarious Baumgartner. He was from Switzerland and listed on the same ship records as the Warth family. They belong to the German Lutheran Church of Newark. He was a blacksmith in Newark and Rahway, New Jersey. Allied Baumgartner family in Essex County, New Jersey are Bladel, Prall and LaForge. Allied Swiss family that appear in New York State are Becker and Jenny/Jenni. Thank you. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
