McDONALDS Of NEWFOUNDLAND Burnt Island Norris Arm My Great x 2 Grandfather was Michael McDonald who lived on Burnt Island for a time..as my Great Grandfather Maurice (Morris) McDonald was born there according to his daughter my Great Aunt..on Jan 1 or 2nd 1893. I have found Morris on Census's for 1921 and 1935 in the Norris Arm Area and it says on those census's that his birthplace was Gambo NFLD..So I'm taking it that Burnt Island is in the Gambo Area... Maurice (Morris as listed on the Census's) had some brothers..they being.. Michael McDonald JR.. James McDonald Thomas McDonald George McDonald I believe all the brothers ended up also in the Norris Arm NFLD area. Maurice McDonald married BRIDGET HAAS (Hynes,Hinds) probably around 1914 or 1915 though I don't know where the marriage took place. Maurice McDonald and Bridget Haas had several children..
