I'm looking for information about the Chambers family from Montserrat. My great grandmother Mary Jane Chambers was born on Montserrat in 1862. Her brothers and sisters, Thomas Chambers 1858, Agnes Farester Chambers 1860 & Honeyman Anstruther Chambers 1856 were all also born on the island. Their mother, Mary Chambers, was born in Scotland 1830, I don't know her maiden name. Charles Chambers, the father was a merchant, possibly a draper; I haven't been able to find anything about his origins. I think Charles may have died on the island as Mary was a widow when she appeared on the 1871 UK census. Any details you can provide would be much appreciated. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
