Hello - I am looking for the parents of these two brothers: Riley T. HUDGINS (or HUDGENS), b. 1824 in Georgia or Alabama and William Allen HUDGINS (or HUDGENS), b. 1827 in Georgia or Alabama Riley married Caroline Turner in Coosa County, AL on 3/26/1851 and William married a Sarah about 1847 in AL. Riley named his first son William Allen (my GGgrandfather) and William named his first son Riley T. (My GGgrandfather married Mary Elizabeth Dingler and they had 17 children - I have tons of info about this part of the family and would be glad to share.) Riley and Caroline moved to Texas in the 1850's and we believe that William and Sarah moved to Arkansas for at least a while. Riley served in the Civil War and died in 1862, after which Caroline married William STEDHAM in 1865. Caroline and her children moved west to the Hood County, Texas area (Fort Spunky, George's Creek) where I presume she died but I cannot find where she is buried. My dad and I have been trying to find Riley and William's parents for years...this is our "dead end" in our family research. Any little bit of information will help. We think their father may have been either David or Ambrose HUDGINS / HUDGENS but we have nothing definitive. Thanks so much - you can email me directly at kellysowell@sbcglobal.net . | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
