My g/grandfather James Devine born about 1840 in Scotland, father William. Came to Australia around 1860 and married Ann Gillately in South Australia in 1863. They were in the Northern Territory, the Albury district and finally lived in East Sydney. There were about 17 children in all however Harriett (married name Carlson),Alice,Mary Ann,Charlotte,Isabella (married name Coakley),Gertrude,James,John William, Richard William, Edward,Hamilton,Robert,Thomas and Joseph lived to adulthood and had families. So far we have only been able to contact the descendants of half of these children. We are looking for more as we are always happy to share our family history with our cousins out there. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
